Tattoo Designs - Symbols of Strength

While you can choose a tattoo design that literally means "strength", as in Kanji, the important thing is to have a design that gives you strength. You can choose from a number of designs as long as the one you choose has a special meaning and significance to you. It may remind you of someone close to you or someone who supported you in troubled times. Maybe someone who was there for you when you were young and from whom you gained strength.

Animal Tattoo Designs

A number of cultures used animal images to give them strength. The animals in their worlds they most admired would be a source of strength, endurance, and courage. By tattooing the animal images on their bodies they hoped to become more like them. Thus the image of a bear or lion or wolf would help the tattoo owners to become more courageous or stronger.
This might apply to you - the person who gives you strength could be represented by an image of a powerful animal, one renowned for its strength and courage.

Tribal Tattoo Designs

Tribal tattoos can evoke images in the mind of tribal battles for leadership, fighting for survival or dominance, hunting wild animals, braving the elements. They can take us back to primitive man when life itself was a gamble and only the strong survived. Whether the tattoos were done as part of a rite of passage, or to denote a position in the tribe or as an animal totem, they were all done crudely which inflicted pain. Just having the tattoo said the wearer was a person of courage because of the pain endured. Indeed, some tattoos were done simply to test a person's ability to endure pain - a test of courage.

Angel or Wing Tattoo Designs

People in the West are a familiar with Guardian Angels and as special messengers from God. Angels are also part of Jewish and Islamic faiths as well as a number of other religions and cultures going back to ancient times. They are usually represented as creatures with wings. An angel tattoo can remind us of strength as we are protected or inspired by these spiritual creatures. Wing tattoos can also act in the same way. Wings can give us a sense of protection, a sense of freedom - as in flight. How many oppressed people or prisoners or those who have lost freedom have dreamed of flying to freedom. Songs have been written about it.

Maybe there is someone in your life you see as your guardian angel, someone who inspires you, lifts you up. Perhaps it is an event - something you saw or did that makes your spirit take flight. A tattoo design of an angel or a set of wings could bring this to mind, to give you strength.

Cross Tattoos Designs

The cross is an enduring symbol of faith, hope and love. It can be used to remind you to have faith when things turn against you. It can be used to sustain you through tough times. It can be used to remember loved ones and to connect to them in spirit to give you strength.

There are other tattoo designs that can give you strength: the crown, a symbol of authority and leadership; the dragon, with its strength and magical powers; texts that are inspirational in themselves or favorite quotes of someone you love or admire. The tattoo design you choose to give you strength may be on public display but the feelings it evokes in you are uniquely yours. This is one tattoo that should be done just for you.

Second Life Fashion Design Tips - Where To Get Started

Designing fashion for Second Life can be a daunting prospects. Lots of residents spend lots of lindens on Second Life clothes, and a sure way to make money is to do the same. The great thing about designing SL fashion is that you can sell the same item multiple times. In fact, you can sell it as many times as you want.

The only tough part is getting started. If you are not a programmer, designer or familiar with photo-editing, you aren't going to feel comfortable, and you won't know where to get started. But don't worry, we've come up with three easy steps you can take to start you on your way to becoming a true fashionista.

STEP 1: MASTER THE IN-GAME FASHION DESIGNER: The first step in becoming a fashion designer in SL is to get used to the in-game fashion designer. Open the appearance tool (either through the top-menu or by right-clicking on your avatar) and you can edit a multitude of different factors of your avatar's appearance. To change clothing, or design new ones, you'll need to get familiar with the texture and color menu's. Once you get comfortable with the in-game designer, you can move on to the next step.

STEP 2: GET PHOTO-EDITING: To move past the simple designs you can make through the appearance editor, you'll need to get some photo-editing software. Though many of these programs can run $300 or more, we've found an alternative that is just as good. If you want to start designing fashion seriously, you'll need The GIMP. (http://www.gimp.org/). This freeware is just as good as the commercial software out there, and there is a very active and helpful community of Gimp users that can help you. Download Gimp and learn how to use some of the features. After you do this, you are ready to move on

STEP 3: GET TEMPLATES: To use Gimp (or other photo-editing software) to design clothes for SL, you'll need some templates. A template is simply a 3-D rendering that can be laid over an avatar. With a template, you can design skins, tattoo's and clothes. To start off with, you should download Robin Wood's t-shirt template. (http://www.robinwood.com/Catalog/Technical/SL-Tuts/SLTutSet.html) This will allow you to create your very first template design: a t-shirt. The template itself is very well done, and by using layers and masks, Robin Wood has created one of the best SL Fashion aides around. Use it.

Of course, there is a lot more to fashion design than what we've told you about. (We've created an excellent fashion design guide which you can find on our website. Just click on the link below.) You can spend a lot of time learning how to create fashions, but in the end, what you want is up to you. Designing clothes for SL residents is not difficult, but it does take knowledge and practice. If you can get as far as step three, you will be ahead of 90% of everyone else in the game.

With so many sexy tattoos for women these days, it's quite easy to find the design that will suit your personality and requirements. Most women prefer to have their tats on the rib side, foot, and lower back. These are ideal body parts because the tats can't be easily seen unless the person reveals the body art.

Rib Side

If you're willing to undergo so much pain, the rib side tats are the way to go. If you choose to for a rib side tat, you need to pick a larger design. The tissues in this area are lesser so the pain can be unbearable. With a very large design, the session can take 1-2 days. Most women prefer a tat that starts on the lower stomach and extends to the rib side. You can choose designs with lively and vibrant colors.

Foot

Foot tats are also popular. Did you know that foot body inks don't last long as compared to the tats located in other parts of the body? This happens because a new tat should not be rubbed so you can't wear shoes or tight jeans. The healing process for foot tats is slower and the tattooing is really painful. There are times when infections can occur and if you have diabetes, you can't have a foot tat. The most popular designs are star, flower, and letter tats.

Lower Back

Women love lower back tats. The body arts make them a lot sexier since the shape of their body is enhanced. Female celebrities like Julia Roberts and Angelina Jolie now have lower back tats. Still, you don't need to be a Hollywood star to get this body art. Find a great tribal design, butterfly, or any other design that suits your taste. You can download the printable tats and customize them. That way, you can have a unique tat that you can show off!

Sexy tattoos for women are more acceptable these days. The dawn of civilization has somehow diminished the popularity of body inks but in today's modern times, women are more open to tats. Get your very own body art and check out the available sexy tattoos for women online. Once you've customized a design, find a local body artist with a good reputation. Show your design and pick an ideal spot for the tat.

Tattoos are a hot commodity these days, is becoming more popular than they have ever been in the past. There are hundreds and thousands of different models and styles to choose, give you an opportunity to express yourself. Although they are very popular, the new trend is taking effect in the world of tattooing is known as language tattoos.

Although many are not familiar with the language tattoos, they have only begun to take shape. They resemble other designs and styles, even if they cover the muscle known as the language. The ones that cover the entire language, or a single region. In most cases, those who already have them, have chosen their language tattooed a certain color. Whether it's purple, orange, black or blue, language can be a variety of different colors.

The models that are poplar language stars with tattoos, tribal, and other forms and designs that cover an area of the tongue. Stars are popular with the lower area of the tongue, near the end. There are also models that can be further on the language, roughly in the middle of it. As the language ones are becoming more popular, more and more models are being implemented.

Regarding the procedure goes, it is very similar to getting a tattoo on any other part of the body. A tattoo needles involved perforation of the skin, depositing ink on the skin. The hands move very quickly, the breaking of the skin and allowing the pigment of the ink. The language, like the skin pigments swallow once the surface was punctured by the needle. Once the pigments in the ink are absorbed by the language, the color will remain there forever.

Those who had the language ones in the past say they are not very painful. Unlike tattoos on the skin, the language is a giant muscle. A tattoo on the tongue is often described as a sensation of tickling sensation or numbness in the mouth. When the artist does tattooing, it will normally be a tool to keep the language. If you have ever had a piercing language, you know what it looks like. Once the language is, the artist will begin work. The process usually takes very long, as long as you hold still and not move.

If a language tattoo sounds interesting to you, the first thing to do is to find anartist in your area, which is in fact the experience. Not a lot of artists are familiar with the language tattoos, as they have only begun to surface. A language is a little one on the creative side-something that can not be seen every day in public.

Cool Tattoos

Practitioners admit it hurts like hell and speech is initially difficult, but claim that the surprise factor of sticking out their tongues at unwary persons is worth the effort.

For those seeking out cool tattoos getting the tongue tattooed might be too much. Circus carny and graphic designer Curtis McMurty is the person credited with developing a specially patented Tongue-Dyed Tattoo(TM) technology.

And McMurty's innovation doesn't stop with the visual. He claims the new technique has the same durability as any regular tattoo, but has the added aspect of eliciting a specific taste to go with the design. "They come in chocolate, vanilla and garlic. If you really want to shock a person's sensibilities, go for the garlic -- you won't be disappointed."

"I've always been unique. My friends say I'm 'touched.' Now I'm twice as unique!" -- Egrett Emry, tongue tattooer

The first person to have the procedure done was Egrett Emry, who has a depiction of vomit it was a toss-up between that and an "Eat Me" graphic). Emry's roommate acknowledged that Emry's first week after getting it done has been "a real tongue twister. He really sucks at taking phone messages."

Emry later noted in an email interview that, "I've always been unique. My friends say I'm 'touched.' Now I'm twice as unique. If scientists could grow another tongue on me through stem cells, I'd totally tattoo that one, too. Hey, I'm a no-hold-the-bar kinda risk-taking guy."

Emry added that so far all food tastes like burnt flesh. "Don't get me wrong, I've never actually tasted burnt flesh, but I think we all agree on what we think it must taste like, you know?"

About two dozen Californians have supposedly received tongue tattoos at McMurty's parlor in East L.A. In terms of safety, initial research shows that it's no more harmful than swallowing small droplets of mercury.

And in terms of imagery, well, the sky's the limit. McMurty was contacted recently by some Portland, Ore., teenagers who want to tattoo the Nike corporate swoosh on their tongues, "to speak out about the omnipresence of corporate greed."

A lot of guys resort to tattoos to express their personality; mostly to show their manhood and sexy side. In this article, we will be discussing various tattoo designs as well as body locations that look great and appealing on men when inked beautifully by a talented tat artist.

Koi fish is a very popular choice for men because of the symbolism attached to it. It's originally a significant symbol in Japanese culture and can mean good luck. It also represents courage, endurance and strength. Dragon is another strong tat design as it represents power, domination, freedom and good luck as well. Fallen angel, archangels and guardian angels can also look very sexy on men because they can make them look like their protectors and guardians of peace. Another idea is flowers;nowadays, they are not just for women, men are finding them equally attractive as well. Examples are lotus, cherry blossoms, rose and hibiscus. Of course, old school designs will always be around - tribal art, skulls, pinup girl, anchor and cross.

When it comes to how sexy or interesting a tattoo can be, it is not just about the art or design. It also has a lot to do with body locations. Chest is a favored location by most men as it is a huge body area that can have a lot of room for intricate and detailed designs. Same goes for rib and back areas. They can be great location to create an impressive and amazing piece of body art. These tattoos can only be flaunted by them when they are shirtless or half-naked; so there goes the daring and "chick-magnet" part of it.

Sexy Feet Deserve Sexy Tattoos - The Feminine Foot Tattoo

With summer coming and the months of bare all feet it is no wonder women have begun sporting foot tattoos. These are easily covered up in winter months and are even well hidden in summer months, but when the sun and fun comes out so too can these cute, unique tattoos and the women who bare them. So why would you decide to get a foot tattoo and what would be the possible advantages and disadvantages of this type of tattoo?

* Well like we already said, it is easily covered up. This make for a great tattoo for anyone in the business world. It is not visible as even an ankle tattoo and without the proper type of footwear it is discreetly hidden where few would suspect.
* Not only is it easily covered up it is unique. Every second female with a tattoo these days has it either on their ankle or their lower back. The foot tattoo may be gaining popularity but for now you can be one of the elite few sporting this beautifully placed tattoo.

So what about disadvantages?

* Well for one, pain. The foot is a rather bony place and places with bone close to the surface can be very painful to have inked. This can put quite a few off right away.
* Another issue is that the skin of the foot tend to bleed and blur the ink more than the skin on the lower back or elsewhere on the body. This means your details won't be as fine.
* It is also a high traffic area. Your ink will need to be redone and touched up more then most places on the body. ( In fact second only to your hands.)
* Another problem that may arise is not all artists are comfortable doing this type of tattoo. This simply means that if you have a favourite artist or are simply looking for an artist you may have a more difficult time finding someone to do your tattoo.
* And the most important one is the healing process. Shoes rub your feet and the last thing you want on your tattoo is rubbing, especially during the healing process. Not to mention it needs to be kept dry and clean. This can be an issue for those who spend a lot of time in their shoes.

In fact it is still sexy to some degree but unfortunately it is a little over done now. Come on we are no longer in the '90's anymore. So for sexy places to get tattoos for women are.

Back of Neck - The nape of the neck or back of the neck is thought to be a very sexy area of the women's body and in many cultures a very sensual spot. Just think of the Geisha in Japan that used to use white makeup on their face and neck. However, they would leave streaks of skin showing through the back of the neck to be provocative. This sounds a little strange to us in today's culture and with current clothing trends. However there has always been something very sexy about the back of the neck.

Upper back - Of course very closely related to the back of the neck an upper back tattoo is also very sexy. It is a great location for a tattoo as it can easily be covered up with a regular tee shirt but revealed whenever one so desires. Also it provides a pretty big canvas so the tattoo can be intricate and very beautiful.

Hips - Well do I really need to say more about this area? The hips have been thought of as very sexy places for centuries. The hips are much more modern then the lower back tattoo and it is just as sexy. You can choose to get something small on both hips or just one tattoo on one side either way you end up with a sexy tattoo design.

Ankles - A women's ankles are a very sexy part of the body also and can only accentuate a beautiful pair of shoes and feet. Ankle tattoo have been around for a long time but are still a very current trend and look very hot!

Wrist - This is a popular place to get a tattoo also. Especially for women who love to wear bracelets a wrist tattoo can be a wonderful addition. One word of warning though it can be difficult to cover up if that matter for you professionally.

Thigh - The thigh is another very sexy place. It is very easy to cover up and most of the time can be covered up with pretty average clothing sizes. Thus the secret of a thigh tattoo means there is a certain amount of intimacy before a person reveals their thigh tattoo and of course being let in on a secret like that is sexy in itself.

Side - Another very popular tattoo that can also look very sexy and is very easy to cover up when she needs to is a side tattoo. Women frequently get a saying going up their sides but you could also do a cherry blossom tree, a dragon or whatever you want that is long and rectangular.

Sexy Ankle Tattoo Designs For Women

Have you been thinking about getting a sexy ankle tattoo design? Ankle tattoos have been around for a long time and have always been a very popular place to get a tattoo for women. There are a variety of reasons for this they are very sexy, easily hidden when needed and there are a ton of great designs that work well on a female ankle. Below you will find some great ideas for ankle tattoo designs for women.

Ankle Tattoos Are Easily Hidden

One of the best things about ankle tattoo designs are they can easily be hidden by wearing a pair of shoes and socks. If you work in a job wear bearing a tattoo is not acceptable then you can just cover it easily. However, if you want to show off your tattoo just take off the socks or wear a pair of sexy sandals to bring attention to your ankles.

Ankle Tattoo Ideas

There are a wide variety of different ankle tattoos and one of the most important things to consider when trying to choose the design that is just right for you is to choose something that has symbolic significance to you. It might be a flower that is of special important or even the names of your children. Whatever it is you will be much happier with your tattoo if you put some time into carefully considering the design that you want.

Some of the most popular ankle tattoo designs are: Celtic, tribal, Hawaiian, dolphin tattoos.

Typical Costs

One of the best things about ankle tattoos is they are often not very expensive. Of course if you are looking to really save money and don't have much to spend you can simply get some of the flash that is in the tattoo shop you go to. However, this is not really the recommended way and instead it is better to choose a design that you create and holds significance for you. Even though it costs more to have an artist create a design for you in the end you will be much happier with the resulting tattoo. Ankle tattoos are pretty small and can most frequently be done in only one sitting a few hours tops. Thus means they will often be rather inexpensive. A typical tattoo will cost between $50 to $200 dollars.

Tattoo Pain

Pain is very subjective and what is unbearable to one person is no big deal to another person. Therefore it is hard to state clearly how painful the tattoo will be. However the easiest way to consider if a tattoo will be more or less painful is to think about the amount of tissue between where the tattoo will be done and bone. If there is not a lot of other tissue in the area that the tattoo is most likely going to be more painful. Therefore an ankle tattoo can be more painful then an arm tattoo design.

Capture His Attention and His Thoughts With The Right Sexy Tattoo

We've all seen them. Those sexy tattoo designs on a woman's lower back that turns a man's head, captures his attention, and fills his mind with sexy thoughts. Of course I'm talking about the classic Tramp Stamp. Seeing that sexy little inked artwork peeking above a lady's jeans usually sends a man's mind into overdrive with admiring thoughts and fantasies.

Believe me ladies, a sexy tramp stamp is like 100 proof visual catnip for men. When we see that tramp stamp peeking out above your jeans, we can't help but look and fantasize. We can't help it! I once walked straight into a cement light pole because I couldn't take my eyes off a young lady's tramp stamp.

Not only can a well-placed tattoo charm a man's thoughts, it also can work miracles for the woman sporting such a design. A tattoo in the right location, of the right design, can enhance how a woman feels about herself, her self image, and gives her a sudden new charismatic effect on men.

Let's face it, every woman wants to be thought of as sexy, desirable, and charming. A carefully chosen feminine tattoo in the right place, helps achieve this goal. A woman expresses herself, her personality, and her femininity through her body art designs.

Location, Location, Location

The sexiness of feminine skin art is based on location and design. Whether she feels her tattoo design is sexy or trashy often can be reflected in her self image. If she loves her tattoo art, she's more confident and often has an air of confidence in her aura. She's knows she's sexy and it shows in her attitude.

So, what are a few places on a woman's body where tattoos can have the most devastating sensual effects?

The Classic Popular 'Tramp Stamp'

The lower back is almost universally thought of as an ideal location for a sexy tattoo. Better known as the Tramp Stamp, a lovely sexy tramp stamp plays havoc with a man's thoughts and fantasies. How do I know this?

Well, I'm a typical average guy, as are all of my male friends. I know how most men think. It's no secret we think sexy thoughts when we see a tramp stamp. All it takes to light our fuse and prime our lusty thoughts is a little sexy skin art peeking out above the jeans. As men, we can't help it. It's genetic.

Sexy Shoulder Art

The shapely feminine shoulder is another part of the body that is perfect for a carefully selected tattoo. A beautiful display of flowers on a woman's shoulder is very sexy as long as the design is suitable to the woman's personality and is feminine in nature.

Hip & Waist Tattoos

Right above the hip on the waist is another area of the body that's becoming more popular among female tattoo adventurists.

Tattoos in this area, on the sides above the hips, are highly flattering to a woman's body curves and figure. A tattoo on a woman's side can look super sensual when she's wearing jeans, a bikini, or sexy panties.

Koi Tattoos

The popularity of Koi tattoos is growing everyday. So what makes these brightly colored fish so popular? Many just like their ornamental beauty and bold colors, while others choose a koi because of the symbolism that it represents. So what does this magnificent fish represent?

Koi originated in China and they were introduced into Japan in the 1800's. According to Chinese legend, it is believed that if a koi succeeded in climbing the Yellow River falls to "Dragon's Gate" then it would be transformed into a dragon. This symbolizes worldly aspiration and advancement. In Japan they are considered a manly symbol and according to legend, if a koi climbs the waterfall bravely, and if they are caught, they will lay on the cutting board completely still facing their death bravely just as a samurai would. Based on that legend, the Japanese associate koi with perseverance and strength.

Koi fish are very powerful and energetic and they can swim against the current to reach food or spawning ground. This fact also has bearing on whether people have their koi tattoo swimming up or down. It is said that if the fish is swimming upstream then you have overcome a hardship during trying times. If it is swimming down, then you are struggling with a hardship. However others translate this to mean that a koi tattoo swimming upstream represents a very independent person that has very little concern for what others think. You would rather be your own person and face the challenge of swimming against a hard current than to conform to the rules of society. This is an act of power and you cannot be deterred by anything.

Tribal Back Tattoos - Something For Everyone

Choosing to get a tattoo is one of the most important - and highly personal - decisions you will make. You will have to choose a design, a position, a color, a studio, an artist, and maybe even make more decisions than that. If you're feeling overwhelmed, don't worry, because there's one design that's sure to give you some great ideas: tribal back tattoos.

If you're a man, you know that tribal tattoos are very popular. You probably have friends who have tattooed armbands that are made up of intricate line patterns or other symbols. Even if no one you know personally has a tattoo, you've definitely seen them on television and in movies. But have you ever thought about getting a tribal tattoo on your back?

Don't think that back tattoos are just for the ladies. Many men choose to get tattoos on their back, for a variety of reasons. One of these is that your back is a large space that is relatively consistent in terms of skin. This makes it a particularly convenient place to get a tattoo, because your artist has more space to work with and a more uniform canvas. Choosing a back tattoo means you'll end up saving money.

Tribal tattoos look great on the back because they are versatile designs. For example, a tribal tatoo could be a large sun with flames - a design that would look great in the center of your back. A Celtic knot would also look good here. If you want to get a tattoo across the shoulders, you could choose a design that is more linear. Obviously, you have lots of choices.

But tribal tattoos aren't just for the boys! Lots of women are starting to choose tribal designs when they get tattoos. The versatility of this particular design is one reason for its increasing popularity. If you have a particular ethnic heritage you're proud of, you can undoubtedly find a symbol that will look great as a tattoo.

Back tattoos are especially popular with women because they are extremely sexy. Many men are already attracted to the back, and a tribal tattoo can be a great way of drawing attention to your sexy curves and alluring figure. Back tattoos are also good because you can hide them if you need to - just make sure to wear a shirt that covers it completely.

Another consideration to keep in mind when you're looking for tribal tattoo designs is cost. Both the size and position of your tattoo determine how expensive it will be. If you get a tattoo on your back, you'll probably pay less than for other places, because it is a relatively easy place for artists to access. Also, if you choose color instead of monochrome, expect to pay a little more.

Finding The Right Tribal Back Tattoo - Lower to Upper Back Art

Trying to select the right art for a tribal back tattoo can be a daunting task. It can even be a pain in the, well, back. Whether you are a girl looking for a tribal back tattoo for your lower half, or you are a guy looking for an upper back tribal tattoo that will stand out around your shoulders, you have no doubt scoured the web looking for the perfect designs.

The tribal back tattoo has become mainstream, so a lot of the generic artwork that you happen to see has been all over the internet, and God know how many other people's body. Also, most of the artwork you have seen won't look good on your body, because they are drawn as an art piece, not as a tattoo piece. Tribal back tattoo designs can look amazing, but in this day and age, you will definitely need an experienced artist for this.

First and foremost, there are just so many different tribal back tattoo designs around that you should never have to settle for the random drawings that you see on the internet or parlor wall. While the internet is a great place to find the perfect tribal back tattoo, but as I have said, they are pretty generic and even the good ones are not really drawn for implementation as a tattoo. There are quite a few websites that have tons of original artwork for you to browse, though. You probably just haven't found them yet. You should always use the talents of your favorite local artist to render any design you choose. This way you know it will be 100% original.

Quite a big majority of the tribal back tattoo art is under copy write from various artists around the web. Because of this, their art is not released all over the internet. The designers do this on purpose. Why would an artist want their hard work spread all over the internet and beyond

If you want a truly amazing, original tribal back tattoo, please, do not settle for the first thing you see. Hopefully, very soon, you will find the art for a tribal back tattoo that you have always dreamed of for your lower or upper back.

Psychology Behind Tattoo Designs

In this day and age, it is not unusual for people to have false misconceptions about people who inject ink under their skins to create tattoos. The fact of the matter is, many people who wear tattoos are just like everybody else, except they are bold and daring enough to make a self expressive statement of who they are and what they strongly believe in.

Depending on the social group you may find various points of view and some groups are more radical than the others. In some societies or tribes however tattoos are "mandatory" and are a sign of belonging to a tribe or a gang.

Many people attempt to search into the psychology behind people who wear tattoos, often even presuming that those who have tattoos are rebellious or have hailed from dangerous, unfavorable pasts.

Contrary to this notion, people who wear tattoos more often than not have them because they have in depth meanings to those people. On the other hand in many cases it is just a bodyart. No matter what they show or mean to an individual they are a deeply personal thing for most tattooed people.

Tattoos become deeply "multidimensional" for the people who get them to commemorate their dearly beloved.

Psychologists often try to get into the psyche of people who wear tattoos, because for many years, it was believed that tattoo-wearers were prone to becoming criminals or had negative pasts. It is important to take note that while some criminals do have tattoos on them, so do more and more normal citizens.

It is, therefore, not always right to look at tattoos in a psychological light. Just because more people are sporting tattoos nowadays does not mean our society is in shambles in any way. Tattoos have simply gained popularity as a social novelty and as every trend this one may slow down with time.

When analyzing tattoos, you should analyze the meaning that goes with them on a personal level. Very often you can use tattoos to "read people" because tattoos can give you a lot of information about the person who is wearing them.

Tattoos can appear scary at times, but it is important for us to remember that the person may have gotten the tattoo at a different point in his or her life. They do not always serve as indicators of who the person really is inside.

It's never good to judge people anyway, especially by the color of their skin, regardless how many colors it has.

Sources for Free Tattoo Ideas and Tattoo Design Ideas

Have you been wanting to get a tattoo but don't have an exact idea or not sure what you want? Tattoos are so popular and there are so many ideas but many of us feel stuck at times on the exact tattoo we want to get. For me I often feel stuck when I think of how permanent a tattoo is. I see a lot of cool designs that I like at the time but when I start thinking about the having it permanently done I start to change my mind and look for something else.

Others have the idea or rough plan of what they want but they can't find any good source material or flash that matches what they want. Some of our customers state that they have spent months looking for a certain tattoo design. They look through all of the flash sites and etc. but still can not find what they are looking for.
This is a huge problem, you end up wasting a lot of time and feeling frustrated. However there are some simple ways around this problem.

1. First you should always pull ideas for tattoos from things that you like or are into. Don't go and get a tattoo just because you saw someone with one and you thought he or she was cool. A tattoo will be with you forever and so it should be something from you not from outside. Along these lines don't do the stupid thing of going out to get a tattoo with a friend and be pressured into getting the same thing he or she gets just because you don't want to look stupid. Tattoos are permanent and therefore should state something about you and what you love. Therefore if you spend time just thinking about the things you like and things that you identify yourself with you are likely to come up with some great ideas. For example for me I love being outdoor and nature and so I like star tattoos a lot and nature themes. I also like a lot of the native American and traditional Japanese designs. My wife is from Japan and she has this plan of getting a Cherry tree branch full of cherry blossoms across her back. These are very significant images for the Japanese. They symbolizes the new year and new life or even renewal of life. So as you can see your tattoo should be something you identify with.

2. Once you have some rough ideas it is typically time to go online and look for some images. Now lets take the Cherry blossom for example. Some place you could look for a tattoo would be clip art. You can search using Google's image search feature or go to Microsoft online clipart gallery. Either place you can find either a clip art drawn piece or actual source photos. Both will lead you to some good source materials that will help in the design stage.

3. Next you want to take you source materials (photos or clip art) and show them to a tattoo artists. You might also try some initial sketches if you are artistically inclined. Even something with simple line art or pigeon scratches can tell you tattoo artists a lot about what you are looking for. So take everything you got and show it to your tattoo artist and then let them design the tattoo for you. Remember the more accurate and detailed you can be with your description the more happy you are going to be with the results and the whole process will be much easier.

4. Most tattoo artists will then provide you with an actual design shaded in and with color and the line art of the design. If you are getting this done online then you can take that to your local tattoo parlor and find some one to do the actual tattoo for you. Often you can also ask for referrals from the original tattoo artists. Typically they can do the work themselves if you live within driving range.

If you take these steps into consideration and actually do a little bit of homework and find your source materials and provide lots of details about what you are looking for then you are sure to get the design of your dreams.

Women Tattoo Designs - The Secret About Women Tattoo Designs

Whether you are the classic bad girl looking for a hot tattoo or the "girl next door" type who wants a feminine tattoo, there are many women tattoo designs to choose from and you are sure to find one in a style that flatters and pleases you. Many women are looking for a "bad" and sexy tattoo design, but they want it to appeal to their own unique personality. After all, tattoos are a way hat you can express yourself, showing your feminine side as well as your strong and daring side, all at the same time.

Recently women tattoo designs are becoming more popular as women start to use them to add sex appeal. Adding ink to the skin is something many men find extremely enticing. Of course when it comes to women tattoo designs, the most popular designs have changed quite a bit in the past few years. At one time it was the chic and cute tattoos that were so popular among women, but today more and more women are starting to go with designs that are much bolder.

When you are choosing a design for your tattoo and you are going for the "hot" look, then you want something that is bold and exotic. Cute probably is not going to cut it. Combining a design that is powerful and sexy is a wonderful option. One example is to go with a tattoo of a dragon. You can tone it down by accentuating the facial features and making it sexy instead of scary.

Size is something to consider when you are trying to choose women tattoo designs. If you are feeling very bold and macho, then going with a large tattoo, such as one that covers the entire back, is a very sexy idea. Of course if you want more of your skin bare, then a medium tattoo is a good choice. Remember, making the tattoo sexy is all based on standing out and going bold. A strong and large tattoo is definitely bold and will be noticed.

Just remember that your tattoo is going to last for life. This means you need to be very careful and picky when choosing women tattoo designs. You want to make sure that you pick a design, size, and color that you will be happy with for the years to come. Make sure you take your time and choose the right tattoo for you.

Caring for a New Tattoo

A few tips to help you care for your new tattoo

Next to the beautiful creation of your tattoo, tattoo aftercare is the most important part of your tattoo experience. For the next several days after you receive a tattoo, you must make sure to keep the area clean and bacteria free. Your tattoo artist will give you all the instructions you will need for proper tattoo aftercare.

Beginning with the immediate moments after your tattoo is complete, make sure to keep your bandage firmly in place for at least three hours. When caring for your tattoo, remember it is a work of art, but it is also an open wound that needs to be treated and cared for as such.

Once the bandage is removed, the caring for your tattoo involves cleansing the tattoo area, then drying the wound. Once that step of tattoo aftercare is completed, apply an antibacterial ointment layer to protect your tattoo and prevent scabbing. If your tattoo artist doesn't provide you with an ointment, ask them to recommend one. Apply the ointment a few times a day (or as instructed by your artist) to keep the area moisturized. Proper aftercare of a tattoo can make this tattoo experience very worthwhile or very unsuccessful depending on how committed you are.

Hawaiian Arm Tattoo and Arm Band Tattoos - The New Tribal Tattoo

One of the biggest and hottest growing trends in the art of tattoo design is Hawaiian arm or leg band tattoos. As this trend goes a lot of people think to themselves, well of course. At least that is what I said to myself at first. You can hardly drive more then 10 minutes on the freeway in southern California where I am from and not see a big SUV like a Lincoln Navigator or a Cadillac Escalade and not see a Hawaiian sticker. Things with flowers designs, or turtles, dolphins. Ya see it started off with the sticker and then the car seat covers with hibiscus flowers everywhere and it just grew from there.

This trend of Hawaiian design has then met it's match with the whole tribal tattoo movement. Tribal tattoos have been the hottest thing in the tattoo world since sliced bread or the old school WWII era Hula dancer. You see these influences have been all around us for a long time my grandpa even has one of those Hula Girls tattoos still. Granted it is a little saggy and faded now but he still has one on his forearm nonetheless.
So the whole tribal tattoo and the growth in interest for Hawaiian designs have combined to make a hot and growing market for Hawaiian tattoos. This is really an up and coming thing and it not huge yet. However many tattoo artists are spotting the trend and jumping on it already.

Of course there is a lot of controversy on this subject also like anything. If you look on the internet there is a controversy about getting Kanji and Japanese Tattoos also. Anytime you try and take the designs of a culture and do not depict them accurately it creates a sense of bastardization or what I call the "Disney Effect" towards the culture. I mean how would you feel if you were in China and someone said, oh you should try this hot new restaurant out it serves this great food that is really American. They have fried chicken and apple pie that is the best." Well, at first you would be excited right? Sure it would be nice for a good home cooked meal if you have been out of the US for a long time. However once you get there you see the place has really tacky and awful reproductions of 50's art and the all the food tastes kind of strange. It would probably bee kind of close or resemble what you were thinking of but it would be missing something or a few key ingredients. I bet this would leave you feeling a little sad and like your culture was not totally understood.

Well, I can not speak for you and maybe you will feel different but I was pretty sad when after staying in Japan for 3 months I was invited to a 1950's classic hamburger joint. When we got there it was Elvis with a funny accent playing on the jukebox and when my hamburger came it had a fried egg on top of it with teriyaki sauce. WOW what a surprise that was for me. I kind of felt weird about being in the place that had tried to recreate something from my own culture.

So, the same controversy rolls on in the world of tattoos. Anytime you get a tattoo design from another culture just make sure you go with a professional. Do not have your friend trace out some Kanji in a book for a tattoo and don't go and rip some design of the internet because it states that it is Hawaiian. Go to a real custom tattoo designer and have them do the research and come up with some designs. After all this is going to be on your body for the rest of your life and since Hawaiian arm band tattoos and leg tattoos are typically big it will be a significant investment in pain, time and money to get the thing done. So you should consult with a professional and get top notch work done.

Tribal IguanaTattoo - Tips on Getting Your New Tattoo!

Choosing a tribal iguana tattoo is an awesome idea, but where do you start?

Investing in body art can be a daunting task. There are so many things to consider. Design, location, artist, the list is positively endless it seems.

Realistically speaking, you know that this is not something that you jump into or do on a whim. This requires a great deal of thought, self evaluation and homework on your part. After all, it's not like a haircut that can grow back. This is a permanent decision. An expensive, permanent decision.

You have gone over the pros and cons in your head, and have decided that getting a tattoo is what you want to do. You also know that you have figured out that you are leaning towards some kind of tribal design. That is something that won't require long explanations to your grandkids like putting an album cover on your back. Plus, you have always liked the way they looked, it really was no choice.

You pull Google up on your computer, and type in "tribal iguana tattoo" and do an image search. Instead of finding many different designs, you notice they are quite repetitive. You want something that is a little more unique, a little more you.

Starting again, you follow link after link to various tattoo sites and forums. The free ones seem to be a repeat of what you had already viewed on Google. Deciding that it is an important enough decision to have to make, you bring out your credit card and head to one of the pay sites. As you browse through features, you see that a few of them have reviews of parlors, local parlors! That will help make another decision. You type in your numbers, and enter.

Inside is a cornucopia of art. The designs are beautiful! You click on the tribal link, and start to click through the pages, when suddenly the middle of page 7 catches your eye. You click on the thumbnail, and all of a sudden, the most beautiful design you have ever seen is full size on your screen. You have found it! This site helped you pick your design and your parlor!

A few weeks later, you know you have made all the right choices. All you need to do now is enjoy it!

Good luck getting your new tribal iguana tattoo!

Cherry Blossom Tattoo Designs & Their Meanings

You see cherry blossom tattoos on many women these days as these such designs have grown in popularity among tattoo aficionados and first timers alike. This rush for distinct tattoos of cherry blossoms has given rise to a great interest in the meaning and symbolism of the cherry blossom in both the Chinese and Japanese cultures.

Since tattoos are very personal things, they can say a lot about a person so getting the right tattoo for the right reason is important. Since cherry blossoms mean different things in Chinese and Japanese society you should be aware that peoples of those backgrounds might react quite differently when they see it.

Cherry Blossoms In China

The Chinese see the cherry blossom as a symbol of power, particularly of the dominance of the feminine persona. This could mean a blossom tattoo is ideal for you if you are a strong willed woman who values her liberty and freedom or if you have recently come out of a difficult relationship.

It also stands for love if you are coming from the herbal lore approach.

Cherry Blossoms In Japan

In Japanese culture there is often a link between the blossoming of cherry tress and the Buddhist concept of "mono no aware" which refers to the reverence for life, the transience of being and the sadness at the passing of things. This is because cherry blossoms only appear on tress for short times before they fall to the ground.

This association with mortality is highly symbolic in Japan and has been used in traditional art there for many centuries along with more recent manga or anime. This link may however make a tattoo of cherry blossoms unsuitable for some. Alternatively, it may give you renewed appreciation for the fragility of life and help you make the most of your brief time on this Earth, while bringing you a different perspective on the hard times you may face; knowing that they will not last forever.

Getting A True Reflection Of Cherry Blossom In Your Tattoo

While it is true that there are many different varieties of cherry blossom, many people do not appreciate just how different looking they can be. In fact, the most common cherry tree in Japan is Somei Yoshino which has largely white blossom with only the faintest hint of pink on the petals.

Other popular choices do have very much more pink in their blossom and it is these that you will more commonly see as tattoos. But still, this is something you will have to think about when getting your tattoo. You should do some research, find pictures of tattoos other people have had and decide which you prefer. It might depend on your skin tone; those with pale skin will definitely want a more pink design whereas tanned or olive skinned people should think about paler pink or white flowers in their designs.

You should also think about how much of the branch to integrate into the overall tattoo design. Realism would dictate that you have a fair bit of branch with flowers clumped together along it but it will probably come down to both personal taste and where you intend the tattoo to be.

Getting Your Tattoo Done

If you have decided upon a tattoo incorporating cherry blossoms you should be very selective over whom you get to apply the design to your skin. Japanese art is very intricate as is the cherry tree itself so you need somebody who has experience in this type of tattoo. Make sure you talk over with them exactly what you want and don't be afraid to ask for amendments to their initial drawings so that the finished article is something you are happy to live with for the rest of your life.

So there you have it, I hope this overview of the meaning and symbolism of the cherry tree blossom has been useful in making up your mind about that tattoo you've been after.

When men go to get tattoos done, they always seem to want ones that boast about their masculinity and what better a design than a scorpion? They are creepy, gross and most of the time full of poison. The most frequently asked question after deciding on a scorpion is what kind of design to get and where to get it? Scorpion tattoo pictures for girl are probably the best way to find inspiration.

These can be found in numerous places—online, in books, on friends, in shops. One of the pictures found online depicts a large scorpion tattoo done on the arm above the elbow. It takes up the majority of the arm, does not contain any color whatsoever and generally looks a little creepy. While most of the pictures show the arm as the best place for the scorpion tattoo, one depicts a scorpion on the hand. It is mostly in black ink, but has a surrounding color of red.

Most men don’t often opt to get color put on their scorpion tattoo, which is alright, but for those who do like color it does add a nice touch. It gives the scorpions lifelike characteristics and a more defined look.
